Senior Project Manager  /Contracts Manager

<h2>Overview</h2> <p></p> <p>John Sisk &amp; Son have been building excellence as a family-owned international construction company by offering trust, certainty and value to our clients whilst being at the heart of change.   </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>The Senior Project Manager/Contracts Manager  is responsible for the full management and delivery of allocated engineering contract(s) within the region, reporting to the Regional Director. This role leads all aspects of project execution including commercial management, HSEQS compliance, resource planning and client and supply chain relationships. The position requires a strategic and hands-on leader who drives operational excellence, risk mitigation and stakeholder satisfaction.  </p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p><strong>Preconstruction  </strong></p> <ul> <li>Prepare project programmes, method statements, preliminaries and submission documentation. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Chair project start-up and internal coordination meetings. </li> </ul> <p>  </p> <ul> <li>Develop procurement strategy with QS and prequalify key supply chain partners for early awards. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Establish and manage preliminary Commercial Risk Registers, implementing mitigation plans</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with SQS to develop procurement schedules and monitor progress. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Ensure preparation of Health, Safety &amp; Environmental plans, including Temporary Works Registers.</li> <li>Plan and agree site logistics and layout in accordance with company policies.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Communicate site start dates to statutory authorities and stakeholders. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Develop employee resource plans aligned with Regional Director expectations. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Define and implement design strategies including BIM, DRM and scope of novated services where applicable. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Construction &amp; Design Management </strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversee consultant and subcontractor design delivery, including BIM implementation.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Manage subcontractor engagement, progress meetings and pre-order reviews.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Supervise employee resourcing, ensuring coverage during leave or training.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Manage information flows and scheduling to support project delivery.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Chair internal team and subcontractor meetings; ensure accurate minute-taking and distribution.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Maintain detailed understanding and management of project critical paths.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Prepare contract reports and manage preliminaries per PEP, including extension of time applications with QS collaboration.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Uphold HSEQS standards as a core priority throughout project execution. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Project Monitoring &amp; Commercial Management  </strong></p> <ul> <li>Review constructability and identify commercially advantageous execution methods.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Monitor site progress against programme, coordinating with subcontractors and site managers.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Control and report on project budgets and progress to internal and external stakeholders regularly. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Implement quality management cycles through package owners.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Lead onsite delivery of HSEQS plans and quality programs.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Present project status at Monthly CVR / CRM meetings with Sisk management.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Oversee compliance roles such as “Certified Builder” under statutory regulations. </li> </ul> <p>  </p> <ul> <li>Drive timely achievement of Practical Completion Certificates. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Post-Construction  </strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure client aftercare and post-handover commissioning adjustments are completed.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Support SQS with loss and expense claims and provide data for Final Accounts.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Complete project data sheets and secure client references. </li> </ul> <p>  </p> <ul> <li>Maintain strong client and design team relationships to safeguard contractual position and future opportunities. </li> </ul> <p>  </p> <ul> <li>Manage defects identification and resolution to achieve the Certificate of Making Good Defects. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Leadership &amp; Development  </strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the PDP process for project team members, promoting continuous development and learning. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Motivate and manage project teams to achieve effective and collaborative working.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <h2>Experience</h2> <p><strong>Experience &amp; Skills </strong></p> <p><strong>Essential </strong></p> <ul> <li>Relevant sector experience with demonstrable ‘end to end’ project management across multiple projects.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Technical knowledge of civil, structural, architectural and M&amp;E aspects related to civil projects</li> <li>Proficient in BIM concepts and digital project
