Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: Starting at $40/hour (may be higher depending on experience)

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of power distribution equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and working independently in the field.

This position involves frequent travel and direct interaction with customers, so strong communication and professionalism are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

  • Install and support startup of power distribution systems
  • Perform system verification, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Configure and troubleshoot HMIs and control interfaces
  • Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards
  • Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Diagnose and repair issues with 3-phase power systems, transformers, and electrical components
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
  • Perform root-cause troubleshooting in live environments
  • Customer Interaction & Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact onsite
  • Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams
  • Provide training and support to operators and maintenance personnel
  • Documentation & Reporting

  • Complete service reports with accuracy and detail
  • Track labor, parts, and service activities
  • Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements
  • Qualifications

    Required:

  • 3+ years of field service, electrical service, or related experience
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working with 24V, 120V, and 480V systems
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings
  • Willingness to travel 75%+
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Preferred:

  • Experience with power distribution equipment (UPS, switchgear, transformers, etc.)
  • Basic PLC or HMI troubleshooting experience
  • Commissioning or startup experience
  • OSHA or safety training
