Primary Function:
The Electromechanical assembly technician is responsible for assembling mechanical and electronic components used to create robots.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
- Build Robots - Be part of a team creating innovative robotic systems.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings (and sometimes "back-of-napkin" sketches) to assemble and construct structures and components.
- Assist in building out and specifying our expanding manufacturing capabilities.
- Assemble mechanical and electronic components using hand tools and other necessary equipment.
- Support engineers with research and development projects as needed.
- Continuously learn and adapt, acquiring new and useful skills to meet evolving project requirements.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience preferred.
- Electromechanical assembly experience is required; you’re comfortable working with devices that combine mechanical and electronic components.
- Ability to work with small components and skilled in using tools such as ties and specialized hand tools.
- Basic wiring knowledge is a must; PCB assembly experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.
- Proven ability in basic troubleshooting to identify and solve problems during assembly.
- Experience with hand and power tools, whether gained professionally or through personal projects, is an advantage.
- Awareness of and commitment to manufacturing safety practices.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain standing for extended periods.
- A team player who brings positive energy to both the office and shop environments.
- Resilience and resourcefulness—able to demonstrate grit and contribute wherever needed in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Pass a post-offer background verification.
