Indiana University Health is looking for passionate, experienced nurses to join our team and collaborate with top medical professionals. 

Riley Hospital 3W Cardiac Stepdown Unit is a 24-bed unit that includes 6 designated NICU beds. Riley at IU Health is ranked among the top pediatric cardiovascular programs in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and others. We are also among the top 15 of high-volume heart programs in the nation for effective outcomes. Our Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeons have received the high honor of a Three Star Rating from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons in 2018.  

The Registered Nurse will assess, monitor, and document on high acuity cardiac patients from neonates to adults including Congenital Heart Defect Patients, Neonatal Congenital Heart Defect Patients (Patients in NICU Cohort), Pre/Post-Cardiac Transplant Patients, Pre/Post-Op Cardiothoracic Surgery Patients, and Post-Cardiac Catheterization Patients. Seeking experienced nurses.

Nursing skills gained on 3W Cardiac Stepdown:

  • Training for all ages of patients from neonates to adults      
  • Training for ventricular assist devices, post-cardiac transplant, chest tubes, pacer wires, cardiac   
  • monitoring, and central lines
  • Teaching caregivers how to care for their children through our parent care program
  • Cross-training opportunity to CVICU

Qualifications 

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
