Overview

 

The Manager, US Investment Banking Product Control, contributes to the overall success of the New York Product Control department in the U.S. ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. As this Manager, you will ensure that all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures and be primarily responsible for designing and implementing process and systems solutions for daily P&L reporting, daily/monthly accounting, balancing and reconciliations for US Investment Banking activities. You will also interact with a number of functional areas within and outside of Product Control. The key internal relationships outside of Product Control will be with Front Office, Financial and Regulatory Reporting, GWO, and FP&A.
 

 

 

What You’ll Do
 

  • Overall support of the U.S. Investment Banking business revenue reporting.

  • Facilitate greater collaboration between Product Control and the business to drive informed Management Information.

  • Develop quality financial management information reporting solutions to the business line, including accurate daily/weekly/monthly/yearly portfolio and consolidated level P&L.

  • Partner with the business to define and design a systematic solution to capture deal economics.

  • Partner with U.S. Finance in support of regulatory, planning, and analysis activities.

  • Deep diving and problem resolutions in resolving day to day PL issues(following up with GWO/Front Office).

  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. 
     

     


 

What You’ll Bring

 

  • Prior experience of general Product Control experience with a focus on Investment Banking.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting for revenue recognition for underwriting and advisory.

  • Advanced knowledge with Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas)

  • Familiarity with accounting principles (ledgers, trial balances, accounting data)
