This role will support the information technology (IT) security (ITSEC) engineering function of the Unison IT Security Program. The ITSEC engineer manages the ITSEC engineering sources, services, systems and technologies supporting the client hosted environments and the Unison corporate network. The role is for an individual contributor, working across functional boundaries with the IT and the product development teams. The role requires work with outside vendor representatives to resolve technical issues. A successful candidate is task-oriented and willing to present new ideas, as well as follow guidance set forth by our stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of a cross-functional team while following standards and practices for configuring and operating ITSEC technologies, sources, software and services.
  • Follow the Unison IT Security Program Standard Practices for managing active sensors and sources to enable analysis of data and client reports.
  • Support the CAARPI process by automating the collection and analysis of source and sensor data.
  • Seek technical recommendations from vendor representatives and recommend solutions to advance the collection and analysis of data.
  • Work with a wide variety of technologies and tools to help implement continuous improvement of ITSEC engineering services that provide secure solutions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Full-time positions working a regular shift; may work 24/7 shift as sensor Analyst.

Qualifications

 

 

Required Skills:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in ITSEC, cyber, programming or software development, or related field
  • Ability to use a wide variety of ITSEC engineering collection sources, services, technologies and tools to help implement continuous improvement of our ITSEC engineering processes, including managing standards in the collection and analysis of data.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as JAVA, PowerShell or Pearl
  • Experience with Splunk Search Processing Language
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting, collaboration, and customer service skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
  • Increasingly, self-motivated and directed

 

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with security event and incident management tools (Splunk, FireEye, CrowdStrike)
  • Familiarity with JIRA, SharePoint, Teams and Microsoft O365 platform

 

Clearance: For some positions, applicants may need to be the subject of a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship is required.
