Job Description:

It’s the magic of immersing yourself in a motion picture masterpiece, or a new track from your favorite band, or the spectacle of a live Broadway show! It’s hard to define and even harder to create, but that’s what we do at The Walt Disney Studios (TWDS). Ours is a culture of innovation, collaboration and creativity. We set the standard, then step over it, blazing trails through the production and distribution of world-class entertainment around the globe. If you want to help tell compelling, enduring stories through movies, music or stage plays, then we want to hear from you!

Performance Marketing is an internal cross-functional team within TWDS Marketing organization. The team uses developing and maturing ad technologies to achieve remarkable data-driven results within auction-based or otherwise addressable media platforms while supporting other paid media and marketing efforts with insights, recommendations, and innovative marketing technologies. Performance Marketing includes Marketing Technology and Marketing Science who help drive innovation, and also includes Performance Marketing Strategy & Operations, Marketing Analytics, and Marketing Compliance who ground the overall team in the business. Together, we strive and collaborate for continuous improvement in advertising effectiveness and efficiency while protecting and enhancing the magical brands of The Walt Disney Studios.

This role sits within the Performance Marketing Strategy & Operations team and will work directly with performance marketing activation partners to drive value. We are looking for a Marketing professional with a background in performance marketing strategy and operations to lead a team of analysts and ensure the performance marketing activation strategy is aligned with overall marketing objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Vice President of Performance Marketing and Analytics to develop strategies and goals for upcoming performance marketing campaigns supporting theatrical or streaming title releases or other Disney brands and products; communicate about ongoing achievements, problems and issues.
  • Lead daily operations of a team of analysts who will support and guide activation efforts on addressable ad platforms with respect to strategy, optimization, pacing, bids, audience segmentation and in-flight campaign reporting with the purpose of improving performance marketing results
  • Lead daily communication with media agency performance marketing activation teams in order to ensure proper implementation of campaigns
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive, omni-platform audience data strategy—inclusive of first-party, second-party, and third-party data—with support and guidance from Marketing Science and Marketing Analytics in order to maximize the opportunity of each media touchpoint and enhance overall consumer journeys
  • Manage and track performance marketing budgets allocated to testing, analytics, measurement, activation, and contingency, using internal tools and processes where applicable
  • Lead all aspects of ad buying platform setup, onboarding and user management for platforms such as Google Campaign Manager 360, Search Ads 360, Google DV360, and The Trade Desk
  • Partner with the sales and support teams of ad buying platforms such as Facebook/Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Google Ads, Google Campaign Manager 360, Search Ads 360, Google DV360, and The Trade Desk
  • Manage performance marketing analysis and reporting for any campaigns assigned to the pod, using KPIs, metrics, and methods established in conjunction with Marketing Science, Marketing Analytics, and Marketing Technology
  • Manage ad tagging and data collection in partnership with Marketing Compliance and ad operations teams in order to ensure that implementation of ad pixels is proper and compliant
  • Manage audience data sharing partnerships with internal Disney divisions as well as key outside second parties, including any exhibitor or ticketing partners, in order to ensure that standards related to proper data governance and legal compliance are achieved while the opportunity for collective business success is maximized; leveraging media agency partners as needed in this endeavor
  • Establish and develop an ongoing test-and-learn roadmap in partnership with Marketing Science and Marketing Analytics to benchmark the performance of current strategies and tactics or to explore and prove out new approaches and opportunities
  • Lead and participate in the shared interpretation and analysis of performance marketing tests in conjunction with Marketing Analytics and Marketing Science
  • Collaborate and partner with Marketing Technology and Marketing Analytics on taxonomies and inputs
