Overview
Blackhawk’s Risk team is looking for a hands-on Principal Product Manager to deliver innovative fraud solutions that reduces loss without impacting good customers. This role will enable Blackhawk to grow and launch new products without being impacted by bad actors. Because fraud can scale massively and quickly, automation strategy is key, as well as being able to partner with stakeholders for commerce, incentives, security and compliance risk partners.
The ideal candidate will own the execution of multiple Unified Risk product lines and drive strategy across stakeholders and domains. Candidates must have: a proven track record of driving product strategy, a desire to drive amazing new product capabilities in the critical risk management space. A strong understanding of fraud vectors (both physical and online), device intelligence, behavior intelligence, automation and AI/ML is highly beneficial.
This includes, but not limited to:
- Manage from concept to launch, collaborating with internal experts and clients to produce intelligent and insightful products and create holistic solutions partnering with technical program managers and engineers to deliver on product roadmap.
- Own the launch and release plans, collaborating with Account Managers, Business teams, exec stakeholders, partners, etc. to ensure proper prioritization of product features.
- Strategically and tactically own product development for Blackhawk's world class Content Distribution & Fulfillment platform for Prepaid - Open Loop, Closed Loop, Digital and Incentive products.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrated success defining and shipping products in an iterative manner, with a hands-on willingness to do whatever it takes from an execution perspective.
- Demonstrated understanding of payment flows and the methods bad actors use to take advantage of them.
- Proficiency in how to action device and behavioral signals to prevent fraud.
- Strong knowledge of how browser, in store retail, and mobile technologies are changing in order to maintain our advantage over adversaries, even when available data changes.
- Ability to analyze large data sets and find fraud signatures and trends.
- Ability to perform vulnerability assessments.
- Acumen in identity linking.
- Expertise in device fingerprinting techniques.
- Experience transforming product strategy into well-articulated business requirements, as well as using qualitative and quantitative data effectively to inform product direction and prioritization.
- Familiarity with Risk portals and dashboards and KPIs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to handle both executive-level discussions as well as functional / technical deep dives.
- Fantastic problem-solving abilities, analytical horsepower, and attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to work with distributed engineering, sales, services teams and partners.
- Leadership through influence rather than organization structures. Proven ability to motivate, lead, and collaborate with cross-functional product development teams and manage interactions across product areas.
- Solid understanding of relevant technology and tools including APIs, cloud solutions and programming languages and how workflow and systems integrations work.
- Strong product design skills, from a technical API and user interface design perspective to processing systems.
- Experience with cloud computing, service-oriented architecture, microservices, and event-driven architecture a plus
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. An MBA is a plus
- 12+ years of relevant technical product management, risk and fraud managment experience developing or supporting Enterprise and Business risk platforms and operations teams
- Usage of Scrum/Agile methodologies.
- Expert in writing Business Case Development, Planning, Implementation, Support, including but not limited to use-case, sequence diagrams, workflow and domain model development.
- Positive attitude, and a collaborative approach towards problem solving
