Assisted Lab is a transnational ERC-funded project that focuses on the stories – books, films, plays, documentaries etc. – of assisted dying and the ways in which they influence law and politics. One of its outputs is A Living Archive of Assisted Dying (www.assistedlab.ch), a digital cultural archive that features summaries of the cultural productions of assisted dying and references to them in legal contexts. We are looking for casual research assistants to provide entries for the archive in areas where we do not currently have linguistic expertise. These include but are not limited to Japanese, Italian, and Spanish.

Position Summary:
Creating archive entries by summarizing and commenting on post-2000 books/films/performances/audio contributions related to assisted dying, assembling and categorizing references to them in legal contexts and media. Uploading archival entries to website. Training provided.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of languages other than English, French, and German is an asset. The RA, a McGill Graduate Student, could come from a range of backgrounds including anthropology, film studies, literature, healthcare topics, law, or philosophy.
