Responsibilities

 

1.    Repair or improve pneumatic, electronic, and mechanical aspects of thermoforming tools and equipment.

2.    Work with the engineering department and PIT teams on machine and tool improvements.

3.    Requisition or procure parts required for repairs or projects.

4.    Instruct, Lead, and Train department personnel on advanced topics.

5.    Provide documentation as needed.

6.    Work with outside vendors to complete projects as assigned.

7.    Design, fabricate, machine, and test, components / tools.

8.    Assist in troubleshooting advanced or difficult issues.

9.    Insure a safe and healthy work environment for department personnel.

10. Fill-in as a tooling technician as needed

Qualifications

  • Able to work independently and with others
  • Knowledge on tooling and mechanical systems
  • Able to accept responsibility for work performed
  • Advanced trouble shooting skills (non-electrical)
  • Dependable and motivated
  • Good past work experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Knowledge and understanding of machining principles and material used in the construction of thermoforming tools
  • Ability to work at heights (with or without fall protection). Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.
  • Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms and horns on forklifts.
  • Stereoptic vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds at a minimum of 10 times per hour.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds over shoulder height a minimum of 10 times per hour.
  • Able to work in extremes of heat /cold.
  • Able to work independently in a potentially isolated area of the building.
  • Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the complex.

Starting pay $29.00/hr plus $1.00 shift differential
