SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises employees of the Injection Molding Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Working (hands-on) supervisory with support for process engineering. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervises and tracks performance of Mold Technicians across three shift operation.
- Establishes and executes a robust Mold Technician training plan to ensure high performance and quality of work is achieved.
- Reviews and critiques submitted mold vendor design proposals and assures functional mold performance and adherence to established mold construction standards.
- Supervises the identification, qualification, and continued development of Molding Engineering Team to assure competitive costing, on-time delivery, production processing performance, and efficient repair and maintenance of mass production injection mold tooling.
- Identify and utilize tracking systems and maintains historical records of tooling development, repair and maintenance.
- Establishing and adhering to determined budgets and timing schedules, writes reports as needed, and communicates orally and in writing as needed.
- Identifies requirements, establishes specifications, and approves purchases for primary and secondary plastics processing machinery and equipment.
- Establishes requirements for plastics resin processing performance and determines criteria for resin certification and qualification.
- Supervises process technicians to ensure molding process stability achieved to produce low defect and high quality once in series production.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- Technical and proficiency development of molds technicians
- Reduce mold changeover time to benchmark level
- Develop standards for improving tool repair and maintenance
- Strategic planning of molding equipment and material feed system
- Develop and execute molding goals in alignment with plant goals

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year accredited college or university (four-year technical degrees with injection molding and/or plastics technology experience will also be considered).
- 8+ years experience in injection molding, scientific injection molding preferred
- 5+ years supervisory experience
- Tooling design and fabrication experience
- LEAN manufacturing implementation experience.
- Experience (Intermediate to Advanced) with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, TEAMS, etc.)
Desired:
- Experience in RJG systems implementation
- Six Sigma or Shainin training
- Presentation skills (effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public)
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and
