Job Description Summary
We are seeking a Data and Business Intelligence Technical Lead to join our team supporting an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client. The Data and Business Intelligence Technical Lead will be part of a geographically dispersed team supporting the analysis and development of the project and processes necessary to identify and migrate on-premise legacy data to the IT Operational Data (ITOD) tenant on the Enterprise Data Platform. They will assist in the creation and execution of an informed and achievable release plan that establishes the processes and capabilities to continuously identify and migrate existing and new data sources into this platform. He or she will consult with and assist other technical resources in technical problem solving and work estimation. The candidate must be able to manage multiple timelines and priorities, thrive in a changing environment, develop/use the right tools for the job. •Provide technical leadership and analysis in activities related to identification and development of processes for intake of new requirements to inform the development of an architecture, design, and Release Plan•Provide technical leadership and analysis in activities related to the planning for engineering and development of data migration processes of approved data on the architecture•Provide technical leadership and analysis in activities related to the development, and delivering of processes and software to execute the migration of data to the EDP •Provide technical leadership in activities related to support of the deployment and performance of Operations & Management (O&M) services until the new solution is deemed stable•Develop and interpret technical architectures, both logical and physical•Develop designs based on architectures•Provide data modeling support and expertise•Provide technical leadership support of data lake and data warehouse concepts and designs•Provide technical leadership and insight in ETL products, Cloud platforms and respective tools and technologies including Informatica, Control-M, Data Bricks, Redshift•Provide support in creation of OneSDLC artifacts•Provide technical leadership in process development, development of business requirements, testing documentation, review of source application technical documentation for data comprehension•Participate in the identification of stakeholders, stakeholder needs and use cases•Provide technical leadership in utilizing target state technologies (primarily the Informatica data management suite for Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) functions, DataBricks (DBX) as the analytics database (DB) and Business Objects and/or Tableau to refactor existing reports), and any other new technologies added to the EDP•Participate in brainstorming and ideation sessions to generate potential solutions for pain points•Keep project manager well-informed of status of technical efforts and serve as liaison between technical staff and project manager•Provide ad hoc queries requested by management to identify potential data or business risks or opportunities. •Provide technical team leadership as required to manage technical resources within allotted hours and project schedule•Consistently deliver high-quality services to our clientsPosition is remote in the U.S. Project Minimum Requirements:•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university required. An additional four (4) years of related experience may substitute for degree•At least seven (7) years of related experience required•Federal Government IT project experience required (data warehouse projects preferred) •Ability to understand complex database concepts and work effectively in a complex data environment•Experience leading technical teams utilizing data warehouse technologies (Informatica, etc.)•Solid base of technical skills in Business Intelligence systems, ETL Informatica, data warehousing (SQL, Power BI, RedShift, Business Objects (BOE), Tableau)•Proactive, clear and effective verbal and written communication skills with multi-site located team•Knowledge of MS Office Suite•Demonstrated success in client supportAdditional Requirements as per contract/client:•Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active IRS Moderate Risk MBI clearance is a plus).•Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
