About the role

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, maintain production and facility equipment such as shredders, conveyors, forklifts, excavators, etc according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and process to support the achievement of the sites business goals and objectives.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

● Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and acting in a safe manner at all times

● Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment

● Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

● Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.

● Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

● Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

● Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

● Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plan facilities.

● Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

● Detect facility operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

● Prefer the ability to perform shredder teeth exchange and related maintenance.

● Ensures training and updates are kept

● Perform other work related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• GED/HS Diploma preferred – Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED
• Must possess good communication skills and legible handwriting
• 2-3 years of Industrial Maintenance verifiable experience if candidate has HS diploma; or 5 years verifiable experience no GED/Diploma
• Experience working on Shredders, Conveyor, Forklift, Excavator, etc
• Welding or torch experience a plus

• 10-Hour OSHA General Industry safety training preferred
• Valid Drivers License with good driving record

Typical shift:  Monday to Friday 7a to 4p with opportunities for overtime

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

● Able to perform general office skills

● Requires standing, walking, carrying, stooping, crouching, sitting, grasping and reaching

● May require lifting, pulling and/or pushing up to 50 lbs.
