The Naval Power Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has a challenging opportunity for a Senior Manager, Contracts within the Shipboard Missiles Sub-Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) leading Standard Missile 6 (SM-6) Production contracts team. The position will include support of current DOD initiatives for SM-6 increased capacity and munitions acceleration activities.

This position will provide the necessary contracts leadership for a multi-billion-dollar portfolio and will report directly to the Associate Director, Contracts for the SM-2 and 6 Programs. 

Responsibilities To Anticipate:

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions.
  • Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters by applying critical thinking, gathering detailed information, seeking innovative contracting techniques, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance on numerous contractual rights/obligations, regulations, and policies/procedures to mitigate risks and unauthorized changes.
  • Develop pre-negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of the proposal development process.
  • Support and, in some cases, lead complex negotiations.
  • Key member of the NAVY Standard Missile System (NSMS) Contracts leadership team.
  • Creating strategic solutions to support US Navy primarily through transition to production, production, and sustainment.
  • Represent Raytheon independently on significant transactions while developing and maintaining trusting relationships with complex customers.
  • Some domestic travel is anticipated, up to 25% of the time.
  • Ability to work in Tucson, AZ (Onsite).

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
  • Experience in the development of proposals and negotiations
  • Experience in leading and development Contracts professionals, which may include direct supervisory responsibility, coaching, mentoring, and/ or teaching
