Collins Aerospace in Windsor Locks, CT is looking for a supervisor for the Materials Logistics Center (MLC) for its Mechanical Engine Systems group.  As the Materials Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout our operations. You will be responsible for personnel scheduling & management of both union and non-union workers for Receiving, Kitting, Shipping and Assembly/Test Support. Your leadership will directly impact our ability to deliver quality products on time.

What You Will Do

  • Effectively manage hourly (union) & salaried associates

  • Offer prompt resolution to all employee grievances in strict accordance with the existing labor contract

  • Ensure timely receipt of material, kit completion/delivery to assembly, and packaging/shipping of end items

  • Mentor/train associates on inventory procedures and document in a detailed skills matrix

  • Determine, implement, and lead process improvement opportunities

  • Maintain a robust cycle counting process

  • Determine root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions

  • Champion 5S activities for your designated areas

  • Perform inventory transactions to maintain proper reporting in ERP system

  • Support resolution of process turn-backs

  • Lead and attend required tier meetings

  • Be accountable for min/max material as well as crib/shipping supplies

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Materials and/or logistics experience working within a manufacturing environment

  • Working experience supervising hourly/unionized workforces

  • Working experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems
