The Private Wealth & Fiduciary Advisor has a client book consisting of both fiduciary and non-fiduciary accounts.  Develops new business and is responsible for the relationship management and administration for: Personal Trusts, Estates, Conservatorships, Investment Agencies, Financial Powers of Attorney, and Escrows.  Manages accounts and effectively communicates with customers of related accounts through effective coordination of the client service team (investments, planning, administration, operations).

 

This position will include certain assigned responsibilities for one or more of the Focus Areas.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews account documents to ensure the fulfillment of legal requirements.
  • Maintains ongoing client contact to assess needs and proactively assist with financial objectives, including coordinating annual client meetings with client service team.
  • Reviews all incoming client correspondence and ensures appropriate action is taken.
  • Coordinates paperwork for new account relationships/assets in coordination with the trust accounting system.
  • Provides ongoing monitoring of the account, coordinating with investment management team to ensure client account is managed within the scope of its investment objective.
  • Oversees administration of account as appropriate with type of account which may include: reviewing and approving expenditures, submitting recommendations for discretionary distributions, and other account administration activities.
  • Ensures adherence to trust policy in the ongoing administration of the account.
  • Handles communication and documentation related to client accounts. Maintains familiarity with client account statements, histories, objectives.  Assists clients with a variety of issues.
  • Prepares required accounting and fee statements as required by the Court, through a coordinated effort in working with attorneys and/or customers.
  • Directs administrative staff member(s) to assist in various capacities relating to this job description.
  • Consults with potential trust prospects for purposes of business development through various contacts: those referred by other departments in the bank or through proactive efforts associated with contacts in the community.
  • Participates in client and prospect calling efforts in coordination with Director of Private Wealth.
  • Attends, and may participate in special bank functions or programs.
  • Serves as a member of the Trust Administrative Committee as well as other designated committee roles.
  • Participates in community activities to enhance overall marketing efforts of the department and bank.
  • Recommends changes or enhancement in procedures for the department.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Focus Areas

  • Strong working knowledge in trust and estate administration and will serve as a resource within the client service team as it relates to trust and estate administration and the relationship management for the account(s). May also include strong working knowledge in wealth planning.
  • Develops and maintains subject matter expertise in trust and estate administration.
  • Pursues continuing education to maintain and expand fiduciary expertise.
  • Provides critical relationship management and business development skills for retaining and growing a client book.
  • Supports the Director of Private Wealth in the development of strong referral relationships with other areas of the bank as well as with centers of influence within the community (legal, accounting, e.g.)
