Customer Service Representative - Mobile Unit

About the role

Position Purpose:

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) plays a vital role in supporting Field Medicine operations by engaging patients in non-traditional care settings, ensuring smooth registration and follow-up, and helping maintain the mobile unit’s readiness. This position requires a high level of cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and adaptability.

MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  • Alongside the provider, will travel to different locations throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
  • Greet and assist patients at mobile unit locations with compassion and professionalism.
  • Provide clear communication regarding services, appointment times, and required documentation.
  • Respond to patient inquiries about services, mobile unit locations, and scheduling.
  • Educate patients on care processes, expected wait times, and paperwork.
  • Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and Medi-Cal enrollment status via the state/MCP’s website.
  • Complete intake and registration, ensuring accuracy in demographic and payer information.
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments and follow-up visits.
  • Ensure all required forms and consents are completed and included prior to appointments.
  • Assist with daily setup and breakdown of the mobile unit, ensuring all materials and devices are ready for use.
  • Restock patient-facing materials as needed.
  • Ensure all mobile devices (e.g., laptops, cell phones) are fully charged and functioning properly.
  • Conduct patient follow-ups through calls, encampment visits, or other outreach locations.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and outreach staff, effectively representing Field Medicine’s objective.
  • Maintain non-judgmental, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive interactions with all patients.
  • Support enrollment and connection to care by verifying Medi-Cal or other insurance eligibility.
  • Accurately document patient interactions using multiple electronic platforms.
  • Maintain and update medical records per organizational standards.
  • Comply with all HIPAA regulations and uphold strict patient confidentiality.
  • Report and escalate patient concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must possess computer skills to include, keyboarding and basic Windows and accurate data entry.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, mobile environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Exceptional patient relations and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various mobile unit locations as needed.

  • Ability to work with personal computer for long periods of time.
  • Travel to and from clinic or meeting sites within geographic service area.

 

DOE: $21.00 - $24.80
