About this Position

At Texas Mutual, the payables account team is vital in supporting injured workers' recovery and managing critical financial operations. As Supervisor of Accounts Payable, you'll lead a team responsible for benefit payments, vendor management, month-end journal entries, and regulatory reporting. Your role will involve mentoring staff, ensuring operational accuracy, and driving process improvements. Responsibilities & Qualifications

Essential Job Functions:

As the Supervisor of Payables Accounting, you can expect to:

Supervise a team of accounting technicians and clerks who perform accounting and payable functions.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of check processing , accounting, and reporting activities.
Regularly evaluate department processes to address workflow/production issues and ensure effective utilization of resources.
Support ad-hoc projects and requests by serving as a subject matter expert for all projects impacting Payables Accounting.
Oversee timely and accurate completion of regulatory reports and filings, including 1099 compliance, sales tax, and unclaimed property.
Research authoritative regulations, interpret, document, and present conclusions and recommendations to management.
Support internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate responses and documentation.
Provide operational support to department by identifying process and customer service improvement opportunities and recommending solutions.
Recruit, retain, coach, and mentor staff.
Contribute to the development and implementation of division goals and objectives, policies, standards, procedures, and budgets.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent education, training, or experience.
Five or more years of experience in accounting or finance.
Advanced knowledge of Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Supervisory or Accounts Payable experience.

The base pay range is based on the market evaluation of the job and may include pay for multiple levels. Individual base pay within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including experience, performance, education, and demonstration of skills and competencies required for each role. Your recruiter can discuss the full value of our total compensation package with you, including our generous bonus plans and flex-hybrid work model.

Base Pay Range: $75,120.45 - $92,795.85 Per Year

Texas Mutual’s flex-hybrid schedule allows you to bring your best self to work by working remotely and collaborating in the office based on business needs. All Texas Mutual employees are required to have Texas residency and travel to their designated office as needed.
