Summary

Spire is seeking a Lead Middleware Automation Engineer to oversee Spire’s evolution in the automation journey.  This role will be primarily responsible for providing oversight and guidance within a team of automation developers to support data flow, performance, and automation improvements for the application suite of products that enable Spire’s critical business processes.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support integration and automation within stream of core applications, including Customer Care & Billing, E-Business Suite, Fusion middleware, Maximo, Click and other third-party applications. 
  • Provide technical oversight for development teams and business users, and enable end to end business processes with workload automation. 
  • Respond to triage production issues related to integrations or scheduling operations and follow Service Level Agreements. 
  • Oversee and influence built-in quality, partnering with Quality Assurance for unit/developer testing. 
  • Participate in all ceremonies and planning with the development team, focused on acceptance criteria that is clear, precise, and testable. 
  • Accept work into the team backlog and own commitment related to what has been laid out to be completed each PI. 
  • Partner with architects to understand technical landscape, as well as future roadmap to support middleware operations. 
  • Accountable for development and updating of technical documentation. 
  • Oversee and drive standards of development. 
  • Collaborate within the specific team and across agile teams to ensure alignment in dependencies. 
  • Identify and create efficiencies within existing end to end business processes and current batch operations. 
  • Responsible for monitoring performance issues, identifying and executing on long-term solutions to improve automation.
