Job Description:

As a Lead Bartender at Next Door by Wegmans, you will deliver exceptional service by sharing your extensive knowledge of our menu and beverage offerings. You’ll engage with guests to recommend and upsell bar items, ensuring they enjoy the perfect pairing for their meal. In this role, you’ll support restaurant operations by showcasing outstanding hospitality, utilizing your expertise in food and beverages, and mastering service techniques. Additionally, you will handle bar preparation, assist with inventory management, and oversee ordering to maintain seamless bar operations.

What will I do?

• Expertly craft a variety of cocktails, both classic and modern, using bar tools like shakers and strainers efficiently
• Prepare the bar for service by cutting garnishes, stocking ice, making syrups, and organizing the workspace for smooth operations
• Train new staff on bar operations, drink recipes, and customer service to build a collaborative team
• Help create innovative cocktails for the menu and ensure accurate costing in collaboration with leadership
• Provide exceptional guest service by creating a welcoming atmosphere, preparing drinks efficiently, and building rapport to encourage repeat visits
• Use suggestive selling techniques to educate guests on menu items and enhance their experience
• Manage bar inventory and assist with daily, weekly, and monthly ordering
• Verify guest IDs to ensure legal drinking age and serve alcohol responsibly, monitoring consumption

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of bartending experience
• Background in restaurant service or related industries
• Proficiency in bar setup, inventory management, and ordering
• Passion for and expertise in relevant products and services

Preferred Qualifications

• ServSafe Alcohol Certification
• Alcohol Server Certification (bartending license) - State accredited program
