This position will be primarily responsible for handling the accounting transactions relating to setting up projects, including the data entry of project unit pricing, responding to client and project manager inquiries, and billing projects.  This position will support the Environmental Group in carrying out the duties and responsibilities as described below:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up new projects.
  • Ensure accurate accounting records for all project-related activities
  • Maintain a continuous line of communication with project managers and management
  • Generate and distribute weekly/monthly receivables reports
  • Effectively communicate with Project Managers (PM) and Principals, regarding clients with past due amounts and/or payment issues and follow up to resolve issues
  • Write off any uncollectable receivables, labor and expenses, as directed by the supervisor
  • Enter weekly unit pricing including Metafield logs, vehicle mileage, drilling invoices, equipment logs
  • Communicate and coordinate with all members of the Environmental Group and Accounting Department
  • Provide year-end support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconciliation
  • Perform additional assignments, as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in billing and project costing
  • Must have strong accounting, analytical, computer, communication and organizational skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. 
  • Thorough knowledge of project cost accounting, including time and expense, lump sum, and not-to-exceed project terms. 
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to priority changes. 
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and see projects through to completion. 
  • Employ problem-solving skills and analysis, and report problems to the supervisor as necessary. 
  • Knowledge of project structure in a client/consultant in an A/E business environment. 
  • Knowledge of Deltek VantagePoint software a plus.
