About the role

Job Description:

Perkins Coie is seeking a dynamic and qualified individual to take on the role of the Attorney Development & CLE Assistant who will collaborate closely with the CLE Specialist, Director of Attorney Development, and the Attorney Development team to support the firm's continuing legal education (CLE) accreditation process and ensure individual attorney CLE compliance requirements are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform either unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.

CLE Functions:

  • Collaborate with the CLE Specialist to ensure the proper implementation of CLE program procedures and processes.
  • Administer data entry into CE Manager, the firm's CLE tracking database, and maintain the firm’s electronic CLE files.
  • Apply for individual program accreditation and/or individual attorney CLE credit in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Generate certificates of attendance, compliance reports, and CLE forms, including attendance sheets, evaluation forms, timed agendas, and speaker bios.
  • Create DocuSign links and process incoming data from DocuSign.
  • Distribute CLE records to departing attorneys and remove their information from firm CLE platforms.
  • Provide support with accessing the firm's external training platforms such as Practicing Law Institute (PLI) and Hotshot.
  • Respond to questions regarding CE Manager, outside vendors, the accreditation process, and other related resources and matters.
  • Process affirmation forms and monitor *AffirmationForms, *CLE, and *Attorney Development team emails.
  • Maintain various information in spreadsheets, charts, and databases, as needed.
  • Update CLE content on the Connections page.

Attorney Development Functions:

  • Assist with program administration and communications, including drafting and sending invitations, calendar maintenance, room reservations, and related tasks.
  • Provide administrative support for firm academies and special programs, including onsite assistance when necessary.
  • Facilitate mentoring and supervising partner assignments and corresponding communications. Generate related reports.
  • Assume other responsibilities, as needed, to support the attorney development team.

This position may require occasional travel.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED

  • CLE experience in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collegial team environment, as well as to take initiative and work independently.
  • Capability to interact professionally with attorneys and other personnel at all levels.
  • Ability to think critically, demonstrate initiative, and show enthusiasm for innovation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of CLE rules and familiarity with CLE tracking database, CE Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, and preferably a minimum of one year working in an administrative support role or equivalent. Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment a plus.
