The Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health (PFRH) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is recruiting a full-time tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor

PFRH is an interdisciplinary department focused on enhancing the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities across the life course. The department hosts ten centers and supports impactful research and practice initiatives, with key areas of interest focused on: Child and Adolescent Health; Women’s, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Population and Health, and Maternal, Fetal and Perinatal Health. Candidates focused on maternal health should consider a separate, ongoing search focused on maternal health.  

The successful applicant will apply a life course perspective in pursuing innovative research and pedagogy addressing an area of population health methods and measurement.  We are particularly interested in individuals with expertise, skills, and experience in one or more of the following content and methodological areas:

• Health equity; structural and social determinants of health
• Digital technologies, AI, or other technologies to advance population health
• Health systems factors and policies influencing population health
• Intervention design and evaluation

• Implementation science
• Data informatics and analytics
• Survey and sample design and advanced statistical modeling
• Community-engaged research
• Clinical trial design and implementation

PFRH faculty research spans both domestic and international contexts, ranging from foundational studies to applied research, translation, and implementation projects conducted alongside international, national, state, and local partners. Our work considers multiple levels of influence on health, including biological and social, across different life stages with an intergenerational approach to health. PFRH is dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students, faculty, and staff. The department's graduate program attracts exceptionally talented students from both the United States and abroad. These students actively contribute to the scientific literature and go on to hold significant academic positions and public health leadership roles worldwide after graduation.

Qualifications

The successful candidate, in alignment with the Department's mission, will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, participate in PFRH’s educational program, and contribute to the vibrancy of the Department, School and University. Departmental resources and faculty mentorship will support the development of an externally funded research program.
