We are seeking an exceptional Research Associate or Senior Research Associate to join our team - RNA Production, Research, and Optimization (P.R.O.). This position will report to a Senior Scientist and focus on small-scale RNA synthesis/optimization, purification, and characterization. An ideal candidate would have hands-on experience with high-throughput and/or automated workflows for molecular biology. This position will require one who learns and adapts quickly, follows established protocols, and is comfortable in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The candidate will be expected to document all experiments in detail and share results both orally and in writing.
Responsibilities
- Development of in-vitro transcription (IVT) conditions and purification processes for circular RNA based therapeutics to support various programs.
- Learn and apply high-throughput techniques to RNA synthesis, such as programming and operating liquid handlers to perform 96-well screens.
- Optimize reactions, starting materials, and process conditions.
- Contribute to downstream process development for purification of circular RNA.
- Develop analytics for purity determination and impurity profiling.
- Document experiments and summarize results in an electronic lab notebook in an organized manner.
- Responsible for hands-on assistance with good lab practices (i.e. inventory creation and maintenance; lab organization and safety compliance; equipment tracking, maintenance and service issues; etc.)
Qualifications
- B.S./M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field with understanding of RNA structure and function.
- Working knowledge of RNA process analytics.
- Working knowledge of analytical or preparative chromatography.
