Job Description

The HR Manager will act as a business partner to department managers and employees within NBCUniversal’s Stamford Studios. This position is based in Stamford, CT and will report to the VP of Human Resources.

The candidate will have responsibility for directly supporting senior executive-level clients, providing strategic input into organizational design, managing employee relations issues, leading performance management processes, compensation planning, succession planning, and other HR initiatives for the organization.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with VP, Human Resources as well as Sr. Executive leaders to develop and drive the people strategy by developing and executing various HR initiatives.
  • Create an environment of positive employee relations by presenting as a business partner to employees and leaders alike
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as but not limited to Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, DE&I, Employment Law, and Labor teams, as needed, to ensure business objectives are being met and employee inquiries are being answered
  • Conduct workplace investigations in partnership with, and provide recommendations to, Employment Law, Labor, and Production Leadership teams as required
  • Provide coaching and feedback to employees and managers; ability to provide guidance in ambiguous situations
  • Partner with leadership and provide recommendations regarding organizational structure, organizational development, and employee and leadership development as required
  • Champion workplace culture by maintaining and developing local recognition initiatives with innovation and creativity; communicate applicable NBCUniversal initiatives to the local team
  • Serve as a sounding board to leadership by offering timely and creative solutions to people problems
  • Champion the execution of annual HR processes such as compensation planning, performance feedback, training nominations, succession planning, etc.
  • Partner with NBCU HR community to work collaboratively across the matrix and the wider HR agenda.
  • Manage performance, corrective action and integrity issues in collaboration with external partners
  • Interpret and implement HR policies, practices and procedures for managers, teams and employees that further the company’s mission, values and strategic direction. 
  • Participate in broader ad-hoc HR projects in support of the entire organization

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years relevant HR experience including recruiting, employee development, organizational development, compliance and compensation
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems

Desired Characteristics:

  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within a matrixed organization
  • Graduate degree in Human Resources, MBA or related field and/or PHR/SPHR certified preferred
  • Working knowledge of city, state, and federal employment law desired
  • Discretion and the ability to deal with highly sensitiveinformation
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
