As a Sr. Manager Operational Vendor Management you will lead and steer the Operational Vendor Management team for all Import/Export Logistics service provider categories. You will be in charge of steering and developing the team responsible to manage logistics service provider scope of service and maximize value contribution through business engagement and extensive collaboration and adequate freight cost management. You will also lead GB overseas delivery performance through visibility, process excellence and transparency on logistics services on categories across North America, as well as being responsible for service delivery management, service demand and structural and tactical escalation management. Finally, you will be responsible to ensure knowledge retention and management within BASF to ensure business continuity and risk management of BASF global delivery services.

- Assuming disciplinary and functional leadership for a team of operational vendor managers and performance management within the US. This includes and not limited to team development, administration, operational cost measures, etc. You will also assume back-up responsibility for supervisor/line manager for import/export and shipping management.
- Ensuring high level operational discipline in meeting operational targets, business requirements and other desired outcomes, including ensuring effective engagement of self and team members with multiple stakeholders and driving and promoting continuous process and system enhancement while ensuring solution alignment with prevailing overall concepts, compliance requirements and quality management (periodic reviews, etc.). Following this, you will also facilitate the sharing and deployment of best practices to improve the cooperation and overall performance for import/export, operational vendor, shipping management regional & global teams.
- Serving as escalation point for import/export operations supported from the LLP to resolve key challenges and involvement in business impact changes relevant to the scope
- Ensuring effective coordination, collaboration with expert teams, GBC units, country operations, logistics procurement, business units and relevant parties for process improvements and development of service provider portfolio and operations performance analytics. You will also be responsible for change management & joint coordination with Business experts and Functional experts on regional process and guideline alignment.
- Ensuring knowledge retention of BASF overseas delivery services through effective knowledge retention and management and risk management / business continuity plan and measures.
- Supporting senior projects (i.e. NGBA) and collaborate with import export business expert and customs functional expert on process requirements of all relevant stakeholders.
If you have...
- Bachelor’s degree with major/minor in business field, e.g. Supply Chain Management, Information Systems (Areas preferred)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain / management roles, e.g. transportation, planning, customer service, customs and trade
- Experience in Project Management
- High proficiency in SAP (SD, TM, MM)
- Expert knowledge of Master Data concepts and enterprise structure
- Knowledge of interfaces and track and trace
