The mission of this role is to partner directly with Field offices to facilitate growth through:

  • Agency recruiting, partnering with agencies from sourcing through selection.
  • Increasing recruiting capacity through sales management/leadership development.
  • Adoption and execution of best practices.

You are

  • An organized person who easily builds relationships and fields questions while managing multiple priorities.
  • Someone with Field experience, ideally in both recruiting and sales management.
  • Excited to travel to agencies within a territory, developing strong relationships to help drive results.
  • Adept at maintaining a system to work with key contacts virtually.
  • Relatively familiar with a wholistic planning approach, including Investment planning.

You have

  • 10+ years industry experience with sales and management experience, ideally some in the Field.
  • Experience recruiting salespeople and knowledge of recruiting and sales management best practices.
  • Experience and ability to effectively give suggestive feedback and direction, not prescriptive (GA environment).
  • Knowledge (at least at a high level) of multiple business models in financial services industry.
  • College degree or equivalent business experience.
  • 6, 63 licenses, FINRA Series 7 & 24 preferred.
  • Industry designation(s) preferred.

You will

  • Contribute measurable results in three areas- talent acquisition, leadership development, and agency growth.

Recruiting/Talent Acquisition responsibilities:

  • Drive FR growth through execution of sourcing and selection strategies in territory agencies.
  • Maintain accurate agency candidate pipelines and recruiting projections.

Provide professional consultation regarding:

  • Recruitment, mentoring, and management to General Agents (CEOs) of related agency staff including, but not limited to, Managing Directors (MD), Recruiting Directors, Recruiting Coordinators, and Managing Associates (MA).
  • Recruiting activity and goal planning with agency leadership teams, including diversity goals that reflect agency marketplace and ongoing accountability.
  • Recruiting-related skill building via on-site training and joint field work (i.e. candidate and COI interviews)
  • Use of Home Office recruiting tools, strategies, systems, and philosophies.
  • Recruiting-related competition and compensation information.           
  • Whenever possible, identify and source talent directly to agencies.

Management & Leadership Development responsibilities:

Drive development of future agency leaders by:

  • Collaborate with identifying future agency leadership talent within agencies and working with General Agents to develop as appropriate.
  • Recruiting candidates for agency leadership positions from outside Guardian; includes managing search firm relationships.

Professional consultation to agencies regarding:

  • Training and development for leaders and recruiters on recruiting, agent/unit training, mentoring, practice management and accountability.
  • Assist in onboarding new additions to agency leadership teams.

Best Practices Execution-Related responsibilities:

Work directly with General Agents to:

  • Improve the productivity of their existing resources.
  • Increase quality of hires while reducing expense/exposure as related to non-quality.
  • When/where necessary, provide insight and instruction regarding improvements in the health of agencies, including changes when needed.
  • Provide on-going measurement and accountability to support desired agency growth targets.
  • Provide educational opportunities to agencies regarding Home Office provided programs.
  • Speak/present at agency meetings, Home Office schools, and industry-related functions.
  • Serve as a liaison between the agencies and home office teams.  Support the firms by being the main point of contact to connect them with the appropriate home office subject matter experts.

Location and Travel

This is a flexible position with preference given to candidates within commuting proximity to a Guardian office. We will consider remote candidates if experience is aligned and ability to travel as determined by the People Leader.
