ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Community Development Advisor who will serve as a thought leader on our team who can assist in our pursuit and maintenance of SCU’s CDFI certification in support of our mission. This is an exciting opportunity to bring forth new ideas and see those ideas come to life!
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Build relationships and networks with community members and organizations.
- Facilitate meetings and lead presentations and events that engage community members.
- Understand community needs in a manner that translates to internal advocacy towards products and services that meet those needs.
- Maintain accurate records on community development initiatives and outcomes.
- Co-develop and implement financial education programs and workshops.
- Develop and maintain financial education materials, tools, and online resources to support member learning and engagement.
- Teach individuals how to create budgets, reduce debt, and improve credit scores.
- Stay up to date on current financial trends and changes in financial laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with other educators, financial institutions, and organizations to promote financial literacy.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of financial literacy programs for various target groups, including students, employees, and community members.
- Track client progress and outcomes, providing feedback and adjusting implementation of those strategies as needed.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of financial education initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with members.
- Work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

- Supports the holistic implementation of Community development efforts.
- Optimally multitasks and prioritizes work responsibilities all while meeting deadlines.
