Join us! As our next Import/Export Shipping Transport Lead, reporting to the Transport Manager, you will oversee daily activities and roles involved in the administration of inbound material transportation and outbound order shipping with Warehouse Operations and Customer Care, with the objective of minimizing transport costs while providing the necessary level of service to meet operational requirements and customer satisfaction. This position is located in Mt. Olive, New Jersey.
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:
Strategy design and execution

Integrate the set of import documents and share them with the CB.

Integrate the set of export documents and share them with the shipping team, 4PL, and carriers.

Main contact for 3PLs in case of a deviation, such as damage, spillage, or leaks.

Interact with 4PL, 3PL and shipping to comply 100% with the shipping schedule.

Shipment process execution according to TOM.

Checks with Customs Broker all the cargo released from Customs in to inform PLA, GBS and WH.

Coordinate all the logistics flow for and from overseas markets, including Returns and reverse logistics
Function management

Lead a team of transportation export coordinators who administer the daily transportation operations for international purchases and the shipment of products to customers via all modes of transport, following global transport policies using different Incoterms.

Monitor compliance of international transport of materials and products with import/export regulations and related tax/stamp duties.

Monitor compliance of materials/products transportation with safety and security regulations, whether domestic or international.

Track the performance of transportation suppliers, report deviations and implement corrective actions.

Oversee the delivery of materials/products to inbound/outbound or customer warehouse(s) as per agreed/committed date.

Conduct regular checks to improve the order-to-delivery process.

Liaise with Accounts Payable/Receivable to address the invoicing or payment of ordered logistics services. Conduct regular training to ensure that specialists stay updated on regulatory changes.

Validate pricing information and Coordinate release of invoices.

Prepare all documents required for shipment upon customer order confirmation and internal release approval.

Prepare applications for and administer export licenses, agreements and amendments required by regulations and manage related renewals or re-applications.

Monitor the data entry of shipment information into SAP shipping module and activate billing upon confirmation of delivery.

Provide daily shipment tracking, customer service and problem resolution of e.g. exception orders.

Work together with the customs broker(s) to ensure all required customs clearance procedures and documentation are complied with.

Design and implement saving projects to reduce the freight costs.
People management

Conduct annual human resources processes for the assigned transport team(s) and validate the results.

Work with the local Logistics management team and HR Business Partner(s) in developing a local talent pipeline in for the function. Improve the development and promotion of identified talents within operations.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain.5 years of experience in logistics in a manufacturing environment.

Minimal 5 years of prior experience in import customs and compliance requirements

2 to 3 years of experience in people management
