Part Time Staff - Campus Store Clerk

The part-time Bookstore Clerk assists the Bookstore Manager and is responsible for performing a variety of duties relating to cash sales, credit card purchases, reordering, invoicing, stocking and pricing of merchandise in the bookstore; handles refunds for returned items and keeps bookstore maintained and clean; does related work as required.

• Serves as cashier
• Coordinates and oversees the selection of merchandise including vendor and product selection
• Coordinates the return of damaged merchandise to vendors
• Purchases goods for resale
• Initiates purchase orders
• Determines quality and quantity of product purchased
• Monitors receiving, invoicing, and transferring of product
• Verifies student financial aid
• Charges books and supplies to financial aid
• Implements and maintains inventory
• Maintains and stocks vending machines
• Dusting and vacuuming
• Assists the KC Bookstore Manager
• Other duties as assigned

• Must possess high school credential and either one year of college or retail or related customer service experience
• Must possess good verbal communication skills
• Have general skills in keyboarding and computer usage
• Be well organized and thorough
• Be able to work well with little supervision
• Deal professionally and courteously with a diverse student and employee population
• must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a routine basis.

• The wage is $12 per hour up to 19 hours per week.
