Sr. Business Test Analyst

Job Summary
The purpose of the Sr. Business Test Analyst position is to validate product features and functions of systems and software utilized by F&G operations teams as well as external customers to validate solutions developed meet the functional outcomes desired by the business. As part of the Operations Business Support team, this role will work closely with IT staff & multiple business units (Operations, Sales & Marketing, Product Development, Claims, Legal/Compliance) to confirm and document code meets approved project requirements and company standards for quality and usability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and maintain test cases, checklists and test suites based on the product specifications, compliance requirements and user experience expectations.
- Execute test plans and confirm actual testing results align with expected business outcomes.
- Build on expertise to further advance automation utilization and enhance/maintain automated test library, assisting and mentoring teammates if needed.
- Record defects found and assign priority to defects according to the company guidelines.
- Identify opportunities for improvements and help others to identify opportunity for improvements by providing clear and constructive feedback.
- Translate technical and user requirements into detailed test cases.
- Partner with QA testing teams to advance automation utilization and enhance/maintain automated test library.
- Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, decompose high-level information into details and distinguish test requirements.
- Follow the company’s development methodology (SDLC) and project lifecycle to document test expectations and results.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of our company’s systems, processes and overall business requirements, the customer’s structure and use cases, and their laws/regulations and restrictions; continuously interact with colleagues, customers and industry organizations.
- Collaborate with and alert customer and user experience team of issues to improve user retention by increased usability and value.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 3 years experience testing and troubleshooting operational systems or processes with a minimum of 1 year working in the financial services industry & knowledge of Annuity/Life products strongly preferred
- Basic SQL query writing
- LOMA designations such as FLMI are highly desired
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Able to succeed in a fast-paced environment while addressing multiple projects and priorities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group to include executives, managers and subject matter experts inside as well as outside the company.
- Willingness to learn new tools, complex concepts and processes.
- Advanced understanding of the principles of software testing
- Organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Experience and knowledge of Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, Teams, ServiceNow, Jira, SharePoint, Confluence.
- Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
- Sound analytical, judgment and decision-making skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Understanding of administrative systems and functions and how data flows between with them.
- Understands general concepts of financial services/insurance environment, types of information used, how the data is produced, consumed and transformed.
- Understands and can independently perform testing and provide recommendations for improved usability/user experience.
- Possess effective consultative skills and creativity to suggest enhancements to improve user experience.

- Regular and punctual attendance
- Availability to work flexible hours or travel (10%) if needed to accommodate business needs.
