Mary’s Meals USA (MMUSA) is one of Mary’s Meals’ largest affiliates and contributes approximately 20% of the global organization’s overall fundraising income. We have full-time and part-time US-based employee team of 16 along with a growing movement of grassroots supporters and work in partnership with Mary’s Meals International and other international affiliates in the furtherance of our movement.

The role:

We are excited to be recruiting a Regional Development Officer to join our development team in MMUSA. As Regional Development Officer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of our grassroots fundraising and awareness-raising activities, especially in the Ohio region.

Reporting to our Director of Development and working in close collaboration with our regional coordinators and volunteer ambassadors, you will lead the grassroots movement in your region to invite those in local communities to help feed the next hungry child.

Cultivating and nurturing new and existing relationships with individuals, families, schools, and churches that are interested in supporting our mission will be key to raising awareness and funds. You will have the opportunity to develop new funding opportunities with potential major donors and corporate partners within the region as well. There will be regular travel within the region.

Key Duties:

• Support, visit and encourage existing ambassadors in their fundraising events.
• Seek out new volunteers and ambassadors to join the Mary’s Meals movement.
• Build relationships with and visit schools, churches, and individual donors each month to explore potential long-term relationships with Mary’s Meals.
• Give presentations to schools, churches, civic organizations, and individual donors.
• Creatively look for connection points to bring Mary’s Meals to the local community- supporting book clubs, attending conferences, etc.
• Make connections with the city, local government, diocese, and local church leaders in the region for ease of approval for donor activities or to be present in certain locations.
• Actively participate in MMUSA full staff and Development team meetings.
• Undertake project work to support the Development team as needed.

About you:

You are engaging and mission-driven, with proven experience of fundraising and awareness raising, you are passionate about our mission. With strong networking skills, you will share the story of Mary’s Meals and our work effectively through written and verbal communication. Experience in public speaking and engaging diverse audiences is essential and experience in working within faith-based communities would be beneficial. Organized and proactive, you will be highly self-motivated, thrive in a fast-paced and varied role, with a flexible approach and the ability to work independently.

We have a remote-first approach to work and are happy for you to work remotely and flexibly, in a way that best supports your work-life balance. Travel within your region and across the United States will be required as part of this role, as will the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
