About the role

About Netflix

About the team
Production Finance Engineering is responsible for building the tools and technologies that enables Netflix to plan and spend our members' money effectively across hundreds of titles that are produced and launched every year. It all starts with creating a budget on how we want to spend the money on a title. From that point onwards, we track every dollar spent on the title by ingesting huge volumes of production accounting data and helping keep the production cost on track. The need to improve production economics is at the core of making Netflix a differentiator amongst its competitors and the work we do as part of this team is critical in making that happen.
As we embark on the next phase of our journey to improve the production economics, we are looking to hire a full stack engineer to join our team.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with PMs, Designers and other engineers to build new features end to end.
  • Participate in technical design discussions with other engineers.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and end users to understand their pain points and brainstorm ideas.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to leverage Netflix Paved Road technologies.

What we are looking for:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer building web applications.
  • Professional proficiency in Java, Python or Javascript.
  • Should have worked on both backend and frontend technologies.
  • Understanding of large-scale distributed systems and micro services architecture that are highly available, efficient and performant
We seek to grow inclusive and diverse teams that will enhance our perspectives, skill-sets, and behaviors. We highly encourage you to apply if your background will complement us, even if your experience doesn't precisely match the job description. Your skills and passion will stand out—and set you apart—especially if your career has taken some extraordinary twists and turns.
At Netflix, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine your personal top of the market. We rely on market indicators to determine compensation and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to get it right. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location.
The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $100,000 - $700,000
This market range is based on total compensation (vs. only base salary), which is in line with our compensation philosophy. Netflix is a unique culture and environment. Learn more here.
