Sr Manager, Software Engineering

About the Role

In this role, you will lead large global engineering organizations, leading leaders and empowering them to run independent high-performing teams to design highly scalable and high performing technology solutions in an Agile work environment. You will provide leadership, mentorship and oversight to a high-performance team of engineering managers and engineers across product delivery, technology decisions, and best practices in resolving critical production issues to help simplify and improve business processes through the latest in technology and automation. You are a technical expert and leads through the requirements gathering, design, development, deployment, and support phases of a product.

• Establishes, leads and influences the vision of the product by contributing to software design and architecture that results in high performing technology. 

• Develop and enhance software providing strategy and direction to solve complex business problems by keeping customer experience at the forefront.  

• Lead and model a DevOps mindset by applying automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery in everything we do.  

• Foster innovation by applying best practices and learning from emerging technologies and through working collaboratively within a matrix. 

• Provide engineering leadership and collaborates and influences within a matrix environment influencing at senior levels. 

• Thought leader contributing to the development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people in projects and assignments of diverse scope. 

• Lead and facilitate teams creating highly collaborative environment.

• Open System development skills such as Java, JEE, JSP, Spring, Spring Boot, Rest Services, Spring JPA, REST, JSON, Junit, Spock, Apigee 

• Strong knowledge of relational databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and NoSQL DBs such as MongoDB and CosmosDB 

• Experience in Real time streaming platforms: Confluent Kafka, IBM MQ, Azure Event Hubs, RabbitMQ 

• Have good experience on Cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, PCF, OCI, GCP 

• Experience in performance testing and monitoring using tools JMeter, Gatling, Splunk or New Relic. 

• Experience in Jenkins Pipeline/ Github Actions setup using Groovy and Gradle. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues in business terms. 

• Knowledge of Retail (Order Management System) industry is a plus. 

• Software Development experience and knowledge of the Software Delivery Lifecycle, 

• Security Compliance and Agile and SCRUM methodology, industry and competitor practices.
