Location: 7235 NW 19TH ST, STE E, Miami, FL 33126

Shift: Fully onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.  

Onsite Requirement: Full Time Onsitethis role requires associates to work from the posted location full-time, enabling consistent face-to-face collaboration, teamwork, and direct engagement. This policy promotes an environment built on in-person interaction, communication, and immediate support. Alternate locations may be considered.

The Pharmacy Technician I is responsible for the interpretation and data entry of basic prescriptions, prior authorization processing, and troubleshooting adjudication issues.

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Verifies member information and inputs data for the pharmacists.

  • Educates members on pharmacy-based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs.

  • Processes prior authorization requests from physicians’ offices and ensures compliance with Medicare requirements.

  • Informs relevant parties of all prior authorization determinations.

  • Provides resolution to grievances and appeals issues.

  • Responds to inquiries from physicians, the sales team, and members related to formulary and prescription benefits.

  • Generates reports relating to rebates, physician utilization, Beers Criteria, Reliance members, and other ad hoc reports.

  • Maintains records by recording and filling physicians’ orders and prescriptions while completing Data Entry Department-related functions, requesting and processing prior authorizations.

  • Assists the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and dispensing of medications and supplies.

  • Responsible for compliance with Florida statute 64B16-27.420 Pharmacy Technician regulations from the State of Florida Board of Pharmacy. Also complies with company policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all HIPAA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Participates in meetings, training, and in-service education as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • A current Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Florida is required.

  • Certification or National Certification based on applicable state(s) required.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certificate preferred but not required.

  • Minimum one-year (1) experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician and experience in a retail pharmacy setting is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent computer knowledge, including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is preferred.

  • Call Center skills necessary; Ability to be patient in dealing with an elderly population and sympathetic to hearing or vision deficiencies.

  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.

  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.

  • Promotes a positive, problem-solving environment.

For URAC accredited areas, the following professional competencies apply: Associates in this role are expected to have strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills.
