Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated, outgoing, detail-oriented Regional Network Liaison to join our dynamic Network Services team. In this role, the individual will be part of a global team of regional network liaisons. The Network Liaison will work closely with our team of subject matter experts (Tower Leads) and PMO group in the management of our outsourced network provider. Partner with our Enterprise Service Provider, internal and external BIT organizations, as well as work closely with all areas of the business to successfully deliver on all our infrastructure services and capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in gaining proficiency in network technologies, and a strong desire to develop their technical skills in a demanding fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Incident Management:

  • Assist in managing incidents related to network operations, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.

  • Help raise and manage outlier events and ITIL problem management cases via our BT SMC and SMO processes to minimize future impact on similar issues.

  • Coordinate with BT, our outsourced network provider to ensure adherence to SLAs and prompt incident resolution.

  • Learn to utilize BT tools and Netscout tools for traffic/capacity insight and spot-checking for potential problem areas.

  • Learn to utilize Broadcom Appneta for network flow simulation and more proactive incident detection.

  • Work with BMS SMEs (Tower Leads) to ensure proper delivery of services adhering to network standards and architecture principles.

  • Assist SMEs (Tower Leads) in working with business units in pinpointing causes of Internet access issues and guide them to corrective processes if needed.

Network Operations:

  • Assist SMEs (Tower Leads) in ensuring wireless, switch and router configurations are optimized and compliant with documented standards via spot-checking and occasional audits.

  • Champion problem areas and continuous improvement programs with tower SMEs and the architecture team as appropriate.

Delivery:

  • Act as a point of contact along with BMS SME for the BT outsourced network provider, ensuring they deliver services in line with contractual agreements.

  • Help oversee the delivery of non-standard or new network designs provided by the architecture team.

  • Engage with the architecture team if design issues or questions become apparent during the delivery phase.

  • Interact with the BMS PMO to flag and manage delivery issues.

Documentation and Standards:

  • Enforce documented network standards and procedures.

  • Champion BT to maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation through occasional spot checks and audits.

Capacity Planning and Proactive Management:

  • Assist in improving proactive incident response and network capacity planning to prevent future issues.

  • Learn to analyze network performance data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.

  • Learn to review and manage network capacity on a routine basis. Help existing network SMEs ensure BMS internal teams are consuming network bandwidth and resources in the most efficient manner possible.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Some demonstration of technical skills with a strong desire and interest to become a junior level engineer with technical proficiency in networking technologies.
