The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Global Digital Services is on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Director, Product Owner. In this role, you will lead a talented team of product professionals, working closely with our engineering and leadership teams to shape our product strategy. This team is crucial in supporting the tools and services that enhance the experience and productivity of employees, engineers, and business infrastructure across Liberty Mutual. We are especially focused on integrating our taxonomy into our investment management lifecycle. Key to this role is improving data-driven insights and reducing total ownership costs, achieved through better investment strategies and risk-return analysis.

About the job:
- Works closely with various partners, including Executive and Senior Leadership Teams, Data, Delivery, Architecture, Talent, Financial Strategy and Operations Leaders, supporting communities, BU Agility teams, and business and technology leads to support overall business objectives.
- Develops strategies around product operations, including spend reduction, scaling innovative capabilities, and achieving higher ROI on our product taxonomy relative to baselines and benchmarks in collaboration with TBM and GDS strategic leadership.
- Establishes standard practices among product professionals regarding comprehensive product vision, specific feature strategies, and roadmaps influenced by industry trends and strategic vendor relationships. Utilizes KPIs to make informed recommendations and decisions at the GDS/Tech level, promoting collaboration and improved recommendations within the product taxonomy hierarchy.
- Effectively communicates the product vision to key stakeholders, team members, partners, and Executive/Senior Management.
- Collaborates closely with engineering teams and other counterparts to ensure resource alignment in support of product vision and roadmaps. Examines role and relationship dynamics to improve clarity, culture, and foster career development and advancement across product and technology roles and responsibilities.
- Partners to create data sets that facilitate improved decision-making across ecosystems, domains, and platforms to enhance stability relative to overall product backlogs and provides guidance to product and engineering leadership to support delivery realization efforts in collaboration with the Strategy and Planning leader.
- Defines objectives and development plans in alignment with IT and business goals. Manages team performance to achieve business results and advocates for the Agile development methodology.
Qualifications
- Business expertise and knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.) and a minimum of 10 years` experience in business, engineering, technology and/or consulting.
- Master`s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years` experience managing product management teams.
- Proven business expertise needed to set clear priorities across the product portfolio and drive business value.
- Has in depth knowledge and ability to influence business strategy.
- Possesses strong communication and influence skills within reporting line as well as with IT and business peers.
- Excellent collaboration skills -- leading execution across teams, influencing across organizations, respected, experience of working across levels from developers and designers Demonstrates passion for improving customer outcomes and experiences.
- Embraces change and `outside of the box` ideas-does not feel attachment to the status quo.
