Description
A Brief OverviewProvides safe efficient age specific child life care to patients/families using child life interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status
What You Will Do- Patient documentation;
- Patient/family care assessment/intervention
- Collaboration/education with healthcare team/volunteers/students
- Initiates and maintains community partnerships
- Actively participates in the quality improvement process;
- Development/education/research
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education- Bachelor's Degree of Science in Child Life from accredited program (Required) and
- Master's Degree (Preferred)
- Thorough knowledge of CL process and practice. (Required proficiency)
- Family Centered Care Theory (Required proficiency)
- Uses a wide variety of medical and nonmedical equipment to meet patient needs. (Required proficiency)
