We are currently seeking a Sr. Staff Engineer for our Power Electronics team. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
The role:
- Lead complete life cycle development of complex power electronics products for electrical vehicle powertrain.
- Contribute to the power electronics roadmap development.
- Lead cutting edge next generation of electric powertrain technology development.
- Work with suppliers, manufacturing teams and supply chain, to ensure smooth transition from development to production.
- Mentor junior engineers
Qualifications:
- Solid background in power electronics components and topologies.
- Automotive design/debugging/validation experience with inverter, charger, AC/DC or DC/DC converters.
- Hands on experience for power electronics hardware development and testing.
- Experience in PCB design, using schematic capture and layout tools.
- Modeling and control expertise for power converters.
- Experience in EMI test and mitigation.
- Experience in automotive power converter volume production.
- Good understanding of design for manufacturing, quality control and FMEA.
Education:
- MS with over 12 years of experience, or PhD with over 8 years of experience.
- Minimum – BS in the areas of power electronics, electric power or electrical engineering.
