Senior Technical Artist
Resolution GamesAbout the role
Resolution Games is a visual computing studio with a proven track record creating immersive gaming experiences for all. We believe that VR and AR aren’t just an add-on for gaming; they are the next logical steps for games.
Are you a technical artist who thrives on building scalable pipelines, solving performance bottlenecks, and working at the intersection of creative vision and technical execution? Do you want to help push our visual quality forward as we take on more technically demanding projects in XR, mobile and PC? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Senior Technical Artist, you’ll support multiple game teams with a broad range of tasks related to shading, lighting, rendering, rigging, and pipeline development. This is a collaborative role where you’ll work closely with artists, VFX, and developers to ensure that visual features perform well and scale across different platforms and styles.
While VR remains a core part of our work, we’re also expanding into more PC and mobile game development. This brings both opportunities and new technical demands, where your experience with real-time rendering and optimization will be an asset in guiding us in what is possible. You’ll be involved in helping teams implement and maintain solutions that are both visually strong and technically sound.
The role sits within our Shared Resources team, which supports several projects at once. You’ll need to feel comfortable context-switching when needed and adapting your support depending on the project’s needs. Whether it's helping implement a custom shader, refining a lighting setup, or supporting a team with integration or performance profiling, you’ll be part of making sure our games look and run as intended.

Assisting game teams during sprint cycles with solving technical art challenges
Optimizing pipelines for performance and compatibility for all platforms
Applying technical solutions for art teams in the context of both VR and PC development
Supporting and adapting visual features depending on platform limitations and capabilities
Using or experimenting with AI tools for asset generation, optimization, or other tech art use cases
Requirements
Professional experience as a Technical Artist, ideally with a focus on shaders and rendering
Strong knowledge of real-time rendering, lighting, and material systems
Deep technical understanding of the limitations of development pipelines within different platforms such as PC and VR
Experience working with Unity
Understanding of PBR workflows and optimization for performance
Familiarity with procedural workflows and shader development
Familiarity with performance optimization for real-time applications
Experience mentoring and guiding other artists and developers
Comfortable jumping between projects and adapting to different team needs
Interest in and understanding of AI tools used in game development
Nice to have
Experience with scripting (Python, C#, or similar)
Knowledge of USD (Universal Scene Description) workflows
Familiarity with photogrammetry pipelines
Experience with machine learning in art/graphics workflows
Who you are
This role is well suited to someone who’s confident in their technical knowledge but enjoys working as part of a team. You’re used to making clear decisions, sharing your thinking, and adjusting your approach depending on context. You’re also someone who sees the value in supporting others, whether that’s through setting up reliable systems, solving a tricky bug, or simply making things work more smoothly behind the scenes.
