Your role at Hostinger
We are looking for a skilled Engineering Manager (Internal Tools) who will lead an international team of backend and full-stack engineers and help boost the efficiency of many Hostinger teams through tailor-made software solutions. You’ll also contribute to building, simplifying, and improving architecture. The main systems under team ownership are going to be purpose-built hCRM and an AI-assisted product localisation platform (hTranslate).

Your day-to-day
- Team Management: Provide mentorship, allocate tasks, conduct performance evaluations, and lead the hiring process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other leads and team managers to ensure effective communication.
- Project Management: Participate in planning, estimation, and timeline management.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization to accelerate software delivery.
- Problem Resolution: Lead the team in resolving technical challenges and act as a point of escalation.
- Architecture Design: Define and oversee the architecture of systems under Internal Tools ownership.
- Code Review: Conduct regular code reviews to maintain code quality and standards.
- Technology Stack: Stay up to date with the latest data technologies (PHP, Laravel, Vue.js) that could help uplift the technical excellence of our platform.
Your skills and experience
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on developer experience and 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Technical Expertise: Strong backend or full-stack focused engineering background with expertise in technologies and languages: PHP, Laravel, Vue.js, mySQL, Elastic, Redis, Google Cloud Platform.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a focus on fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a focus on results.
- Production Operations: Good background in incident management, on-call practices, and applying observability tooling.
- Project Management: Great project management skills for implementing complex multi-vendor backend/API integrations.
- Curious Mind: A continuous learner who stays updated with the latest industry trends.
Nice to have skills
- Technical Stack Match: Experience with adjacent to our specific technology stack and tools (AWS, Azure, OpenAI, PHP Symfony, Google BigQuery, pgSQL, Reach.js, etc.).
- International Teams: Previous experience leading international and remotely distributed teams.
- CloudOps Experience: Previous hands-on work or leadership experience running software in cloud-native environments (GCP, AWS, Azure) or IaC (Infra-as-Code) experience using Terraform, Ansible.
