We’re building a world where Identity belongs to you.</p> <h2 id="The-API-Foundations-Team"><strong>The API Foundations Team</strong></h2> <p>The API Foundations team was established to streamline and bring consistency to how we build customer facing APIs for Okta Customer Identity Cloud (CIC). The team aims to standardize our architecture and provide a robust set of building blocks to help enhance the internal and external developer experience when consuming, building and contributing to our APIs.</p> <p>In addition to providing guidance and building blocks, the team is responsible for development and stewardship of our customer facing Management API.</p> <p>This team’s work contributes to the Developer journey within Auth0 by Okta, specially on the onboarding and management phases, facilitating the discovery and usage of our APIs for managing their Auth0 resources.</p> <h2 id="What-you’ll-be-doing"><strong>What you’ll be doing </strong></h2> <ul> <li> <p>Be a part of a collaborative and agile team, interfacing with the product managers and other teams to support shared services</p> </li> <li> <p>Work with technical leaders to find and drive opportunities for optimization of existing services with a strong bias for security</p> </li> <li> <p>Debug and resolve production issues and implement fixes for them</p> </li> <li> <p>Support other engineers' growth by bringing them along</p> </li> <li> <p>Support existing services by ensuring that security issues and dependency updates are addressed in a timely manner</p> </li> <li> <p>Support other teams by reviewing changes to shared services and addressing bugs</p> </li> <li> <p>Work using NodeJS (Javascript/Typescript), MongoDB, and PostgreSQL on AWS and Azure.</p> </li> </ul> <h2 id="What-you’ll-bring-to-the-role"><strong>What you’ll bring to the role</strong></h2> <ul> <li> <p>5+ years of experience in a software engineering role</p> </li> <li> <p>A passion for working on systems that are highly reliable, scalable, and secure.</p> </li> <li> <p>Interested in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems</p> </li> <li> <p>Solid understanding of JavaScript and TypeScript and building maintainable and performant RESTFul APIs using NodeJS</p> </li> <li> <p>Hands on experience in maintaining, modernizing and optimizing large-scale distributed systems </p> </li> <li> <p>Thrive in a highly collaborative, fully remote, and distributed culture</p> </li> <li> <p>Demonstrate ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and a customer-focused attitude</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong experience with unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing</p> </li> </ul> <h2 id="And-extra-credit-if-you-have-experience-in-any-of-the-following!"><strong>And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following! </strong></h2> <ul> <li> <p>Experience creating and maintaining public APIs</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience working with a fully distributed, remote team</p> </li> <li> <p>Existing knowledge of security engineering and application security</p> </li> <li> <p>Proven experience and understanding of architecture principles across infrastructure platforms, security, data, integration, and application layers</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience solving problems at scale</p> </li> </ul>   <p><strong><span>What you can look forward to as an Full-Time Okta employee!</span></strong></p> <ul> <li><span>Amazing <a href="https://rewards.okta.com/" target="_blank">Benefits</a></span></li> <li><span>Making <a href="https://www.okta.com/okta-for-good/" target="_blank">Social Impact</a></span></li> <li><span>Fostering <a href="https://www.okta.com/diversity/" target="_blank">Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging at Okta </a></span></li> </ul> <p>Okta cultivates a dynamic work environment, providing the best tools, technology and benefits to empower our employees to work productively in a setting that best and uniquely suits their needs.
