Blueprint Genetics, a Quest Diagnostics company, is a clinical genetic testing company aspiring to bring genetic knowledge to mainstream healthcare. We want to improve the lives of individuals and families impacted by inherited diseases. We are currently looking for a Board-Certified Genetic Counsellor to join our Clinical Genetic Services team. This position is a fixed-term parental leave replacement. The work can be done remotely, based in Canada, Spain, Germany, Sweden or Finland.
This is an opportunity to join global genomics market leader, Blueprint Genetics, and our group of genetic counsellors as part of the Clinical Genetic Services (CGS) team. The successful candidate will join a highly performing and experienced team of genetic counsellors dedicated to promoting and executing high standards in the support, development, and delivery of genetic testing and services.
The Clinical Genomics Liaison will ensure that clients of Blueprint Genetics receive genomic services, both consultative and laboratory, of the highest quality. Toward this end, the Clinical Genomics Liaison will participate in client consultation, education, and scientific initiatives. They will collaborate with marketing, commercial, research, and development, as well as the laboratory operations and support staff.
Job Description:
The duties for this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Stay up to date on genetics research and knowledge.
- Provide advanced clinical support services for existing and potential Blueprint Genetics clients, and internally to the Client Services Team, the Commercial Team, the Marketing Team and the Product Management Team.
- Discuss appropriate testing strategies, assist with the interpretation of test results, methodology, standards, and limitations with ordering providers and internal colleagues.
- Provide feedback from customers to guide and improve product and service development.
- Prepare and deliver internal training on Blueprint Genetics products and services.
- Prepare and deliver external educational presentations such as webinars, client meetings etc.
- Contribute to the elevation of Blueprint Genetics scientific profile through data analysis, abstract and manuscript preparation.
- Work with external and internal collaborators on research projects.
- Supervise genetic counseling students rotating with the laboratory
- Serve as an expert resource for internal departments including operations, training, marketing, commercial, business development, R&D, and the laboratory.
- Participate in the Medical Genetics and Genetic Counselling communities.
- Participate in appropriate Patient Organizations.
- Provide field-based support, working collaboratively with specialty Commercial Teams, to enhance our clients understanding of Blueprint Genetics’ offerings and educate them based on the latest science and guidelines to support the appropriate test for their patient.
- Provide appropriate support to patients.
Knowledge and skill requirements:
- American or Canadian board-certified genetic counsellor with active accreditation.
- Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation; ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexible and enthusiastic attitude about taking on new challenges and being part of a growing company.
- Ability to travel for field-based support, professional meetings, and corporate meetings (estimated at ~30%).
- At least 3 years of clinical experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in a commercial setting is an advantage.
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Strong organizational skills
- Adaptable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proficiency in O365 applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc
