Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North America’s first fully integrated cane sugar company, guiding our sugar from farm to table. We are America’s first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. Our renewable energy facility is the largest of its kind in North America and provides clean energy that powers our sugar operations, which helps us reduce our use of fossil fuels. Florida Crystals also sustainably farms rice, sweet corn and other vegetables in rotation with our sugarcane. Our rice mill is the only rice mill in Florida.
OVERVIEW
The Jr. Project Engineer will work with Project Engineers providing general engineering/technical entry-level support. The Jr. Project Engineer will assist the Technical Services Group in developing project plans, drawings, scope of work, bill of materials, schedules and at times acting as department liaison and coordinator with Operations team and Contractors. Provide overall administrative & technical support for Project Management, Engineering, and other critical business functions. Effectively manage multiple priorities with clarity and focus. Assists with the coordination of planning, drafting, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within an area of assigned responsibility by performing the following responsibilities personally or through other engineering personnel.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates daily with Project Engineers regarding day-to-day projects progress, and plant access or impact to the operation.
- Provides general, entry-level support to the engineering department.
- Identifies potential areas of project improvement; recommends and assists Project Engineers with development of appropriate solutions.
- Works jointly with operations and maintenance to continuously identify and develop plant improvements.
- Prepare engineering drawings that details plans and specifications.
- Assist engineering and project management staff with day-to-day project functions, as needed, including researching product or equipment specifications, scope of works development, material list, contacting vendors, and other support functions as needed.
- Assist project engineers with providing correct drawings and bills of materials to manufacturing in a timely fashion on sales orders.
- Prepare complex drawings (e.g., PFDs, P&IDs, 3D Solid models, scaled equipment layouts, and equipment details).
- Work under the direction of the Technical Director or assignee, Project Manager and/or Project Engineer to design complex drawings, such as P&ID, construction documents, routine equipment design layouts, detailed drawings, and piping.
- Provides technical support and direction to contractors in the field or through drawing notes.
- Assist contractual activities by scheduling contractor’s work assignments, setting priorities, and directing contractual work schedules to meet project schedules.
- Assist in the filing and organizing of drawings/ documentation and project’s folders.
- Must be able to provide budget recommendations for both maintenance and operations.
