As our Financial Reporting and Analysis AVP, you will join our Finance Controllers team to assist with managing multiple aspects of the Corporate financial close process as well as participation in special projects and research. You will work well within a complex, fast-paced, fluid environment, and possess a proven ability to design and lead operational and accounting change. You are a “connector”, with excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. 

Specific responsibilities may include the following:

  • Work with various teams to define, execute and report on the interdependent activities of the Corporate financial close period, including multiple bases of reporting (GAAP, STAT, BDA), multiple entities and multiple organizational structures (side cars).
  • Provide monitoring of the entire close process
  • Design a visible, repeatable, and efficient framework for managing and improving the close (Clarity of impacts of delays, accountability, etc.)
  • Design meaningful metrics for monitoring and assessing the progress and success of the corporate close (Time to close, Delays, errors/corrections)
  • Includes pre-close activities (calendars, milestones, deadlines) and post-close activities (Reconciliations, Reporting, Analysis).
  • Continual improvement - ability to break into Short-term, Mid-term and Long-Term goals and drive progress
  • Requires developing the understanding of the interdependencies and monitoring at the ‘right’ level (not too detailed, not too high-level)
  • Coordinate across multiple functional areas and teams.
  • Operate within a SOX-compliant environment/Public entity accelerated filer reporting deadlines

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of related accounting and reporting experience, preferably in the life insurance industry and/or in public accounting.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for creating insightful, actionable reporting.
  • Deep technical skills with ability to understand complex products and models.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Project and/or other project management or Close Manager applications.
  • Proficiency with Hyperion query tools (HFM, Essbase) and Peoplesoft platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • CPA/CMA/PMP preferred

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. 

 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range.
