Job Description

We are looking for a self-motivated and energetic Mechanical Engineer with 5-10 years of experience for our Honolulu office. The successful candidate for this position will provide engineering support for a variety of design projects involving process piping, HVAC systems, and plumbing systems. We are seeking innovative, results-oriented individuals who value high standards of performance and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree from an ABET accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or similar field
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) required
  • Minimum 5 years of consulting engineering experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Contractor Industry
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing engineering preferred
  • Active industry involvement preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards
  • Preparation of design criteria documents, technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications for HVAC and plumbing systems including piping and ductwork systems design, cooling load calculations, design of air distribution systems, design of hydronic systems, design and layout of fan rooms and mechanical rooms, chilled and hot water systems, constant volume and variable air volume systems, automatic temperature controls systems including direct digital controls systems
  • Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs (i.e. Carrier HAP)
  • Working knowledge of the LEED rating system, or other green rating systems
  • Write/ edit mechanical specifications
  • Occasional travel to construction sites to conduct mechanical inspections and prepare reports. Travel includes locations such as Neighbor Islands, Guam, Japan, and South Pacific.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience working in a collaborate team environment utilizing project management skills
  • Business Development experience preferred
  • Desire to project manage inter-disciplinary projects and project teams
  • Proficient computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD. Experience with Revit preferred
  • Previous federal project experience preferred
  • Must be able to obtain U.S. security clearance
  • Be able to provide guidance and training for entry-level engineers

Expected annual salary of $77,000 - $95,000.
