Field Service Technician (Onsite)
Location : Tuscaloosa, AL
Hours: Monday - Friday
Join Airgas as a Field Service Technician and be a crucial part of our team responsible for installing and servicing bulk industrial and medical gas delivery systems. In this role, you'll ensure the safe operation of equipment, repairs, and maintenance of cryogenic pumps and systems, adhering to regulatory standards such as OSHA, FDA, ISO, and Airgas protocols.
As a Field Service Technician, your responsibilities will include:
Installing and servicing cryogenic bulk installations at both Airgas facilities and customer sites.
Responding to emergencies round the clock, ensuring continuous support for critical operations.
Repairing pressure reduction equipment linked to bulk delivery systems.
Conducting repairs and analyses of electrical systems associated with cryogenic installations.
Calculating vaporizer sizes for specific applications and ensuring proper equipment identification.
Carrying out installation of piping systems in accordance with industry standards and company SOPs.
Performing site surveys and obtaining necessary permits before work commencement.
Ensuring the security of installations through appropriate measures.
Conducting operational due diligence during acquisitions and inspections.
Maintaining accurate records of equipment and conducting preventative maintenance.
Upholding safety policies and procedures at all times.
Managing spare parts inventory and reporting as required.

Are you a MATCH?
To excel in this role, you'll need:
Previous experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or welding (a plus).
Ability to obtain a Certified Brazer Certificate within 30 days of employment.
Potential to obtain Medical Installation Certification within 120 days of employment.
At least two (2) years of industrial field service experience, ideally in gas generation systems.
Familiarity with NFPA 99 and NFPA 55 requirements.
Your skills and abilities will include:
Hands-on experience with cryogenic equipment, pressure piping, and compressors.
Proficiency in welding and brazing processes.
Thorough understanding of cryogenic and high-pressure gas characteristics and hazards.
Independence and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Effective collaboration with diverse personalities and backgrounds.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
Strong communication and analytical skills.
Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Brazer Certificate within 30 days of employment.
Demonstrated understanding of NFPA 99 and NFPA 50 requirements.
Travel Requirements:
Constant availability (68-100% of work time).
Frequent local travel within 2 hours of home (90%).
Occasional overnight travel.
Occasional overtime (days, evenings, and weekends if necessary).
