Reliability Engineer

Overview

JLL is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our team!  This position is with a major global Life Sciences company and is located in Belgium!

This exciting opportunity is responsible for providing reliability engineering support for operations and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, and equipment assets.  In coordination and full collaboration with the Reliability & Asset Services COE, the Reliability Engineer is responsible for implementing JLL’s enhanced Reliability & Asset Services program that delivers a whole life approach to asset management.  Key responsibilities within this program are:

  • The acquisition and analysis of data from connected systems to continually improve the maintenance program and meet outcomes-based performance measures
  • Facilitation of root cause failure analysis (RCFA) of equipment failures to determine the required corrective action for the situation.
  • Analysis to determine the reliability of components, equipment, and processes.
  • Determination of the cost advantages of alternative maintenance approaches and development of action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for reliability processes/equipment to avoid failures
  • Completing ongoing maintenance maturity assessments to assure progress to plan

Position Responsibility of ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Recognizes that assignments are broad in nature and require appreciable originality and ingenuity to complete them and considerable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions.

Asset Management

  • Works under general direction of Reliability & Asset Services platform for instruction in deploying client’s strategic asset management plan with matrix reporting back to the clients lead engineer (FM). 
  • Integrates data from BAS, automated fault detection diagnostic engines, maintenance programs, and capital planning processes to develop life-cycle analyses and recommendations for repair vs. replacement decisions.
  • Support all efforts in the execution of site level Asset Management & Reliability programs and processes to effectively increase machine/facility system reliability and compliance.
  • Conducts program and system/equipment audits on a periodic and as needed basis. Audits will generally be focused on safety, regulatory compliance, maintenance effectiveness, cost savings, and energy conservation.
  • Supports JLL operational compliance program and follows company safety and health guidelines and other company policies.
  • Coordinates the use of other engineers, technicians, and third-party resources to accomplish the objective of cost-effective Asset Management & Reliability improvements for maintenance and projects.

Reliability Engineering

  • Equipment preventative maintenance (PM) task creation and management for continuous improvement and PM optimization.
  • Responsible for ranking the criticality of the assets under their care, typically using Reliability Centered Maintenance approaches, and for defining the proactive maintenance approaches that are cost-beneficial to the business.
  • Create and conduct Reliability studies, as well as understanding drawings and schematics.
  • Create risk mitigation strategies for critical assets that can be deployed across the asset portfolio
  • Evaluates new technologies for reliability improvements
  • Considers impact of costs on recommended action plans for avoiding/correcting problems during the design phase or remedial action for correcting reliability problems on installed equip
