Accounting Manager (Consumer Goods)

Our client is a leading manufacturing company based in Chicago, IL, known for its innovative products and commitment to quality in the beauty space. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join their team and contribute to their financial excellence.
The Accounting Manager will oversee all financial and accounting operations within the company. This role requires a strong background in cost accounting, financial reporting, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role reports to the Controller.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain the company’s cost accounting system, ensuring accurate costing of products and inventory valuation.
• prepare and present financial statements, reports, and analyses to senior management.
• Monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
• Coordinate and oversee annual audits and tax filings.
• Implement and maintain effective accounting policies and procedures.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
