Job Title: Senior Developer

Purpose and Objective:   

SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Senior Developer at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, and quality assurance of specific SAP product features in a development team.  

 

Expectations and Tasks:  

Resolves complex issues within own area of expertise and supports others in resolving issues. Analyze and solve issues in existing and new code. Provide application implementation services typically within the boundaries of specifications and project plans. Design activities include requirements analysis and design documentation. Implementation activities include implementation, testing, and integration. Maintenance activities include error analysis and removal. Extends, modifies or adapts existing designs but may also be involved in the development of new (sub-) systems. If acting as Scrum Master in the LEAN context, responsible for promoting and supporting Scrum by helping everyone understand Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values. Serve as 'servant-leader' for the Product Owner and the Development Team. Facilitate Scrum Events on request or as required. Coach the Development Team in self-organization. Remove impediments to the Development Team's progress.  

 

Education and Occupational Experience:  

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 

 

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:  

Experience must involve four (4) years in the following: 

• SQL, MySQL, Oracle or HANA database design and queries; 

• Server-side programming environment using C++, Java, Python, Go and PHP; 

• Client-side programming environment using JavaScript; 

• UNIX/Linux based environments; and 

• Common web services protocols and standards (HTTP/JSON/REST). 

Prior experience, internship or academic coursework to include each of the following: 

• Public cloud solutions including AWS, Azure, GCP and Ali Cloud; 

• Designing, implementing, and testing microservices by using spring boot framework to track, monitor and analyze the management lifecycle of cloud cost; and 

• Designing, implementing, and testing front-end user interfaces by using SAP UI5 framework, including enable and integrate Single Sign-On (SSO) and access control on user roles, and deploying the application at SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
